Superfinishing

Superfinishing is a process used to obtain a degree of surface quality ranging from less than one micro inch to over 100 micro inches.

It can be applied to ground and/or turned cylindrical, spherical and flat parts. This process is currently being used to improve machining processes for automotive, aerospace, hydraulic and medical device manufacturers.

A variety of machines are available for superfinishing applications. These machines incorporate many of the same automated features that are typical of other CNC machine tools.
